Will connecting a JBL cinema 610 ( 4 ohm) speaker to AVR 151S damage or overheat the amplifier (which is 6/8 ohm). As the speakers impedance are not matched with that of the receiver, what exactly would happen.

Asked by: Anoop KB
Hi, It's always tricky with speaker impedance vs. output from a receiver. Just make sure that if/when you connect 4ohm speakers to 6/8ohm channels, that you don't play at constant high volumes, and check the temperature of the receiver. I was recently given this amplifier as a gift. I don't have a fancy speaker set up. Can't I get the audio through the HDMI out, straight to my TV? What are my options here? I'd appreciate the help, thanks!

Asked by: Emir1991
Hi Emir, Thank you for your question. First thing, you will need some speakers 1-5 pieces depending on what you got now. Simply connect the speakers to the inputs back of the AVR, where you can see Left and Right options. Then you connect from HDMI out to your TV ARC port, and on the AVR 171S click on TV. If everything is correctly set up, then you should hear sound in your speakers coming from the TV. Other than that, we advise to look at our webpage at download the manual for this specific product, you will find all information on how to use it and connect speakers. I have JBL Cinema 610 speakers with Harman AVR151S with frequencies range 38 Hz to 2KHz, if I set the crossover on the speakers for 40 and the sub on 100, will I get double base in frequencies between 40 and 100?

Asked by: Ahmad Salah
Hi. if you set crossover at 40 Hz for the satellites and 100 on the subwoofer, in theory you should get output from both over this region, plus some output below 40 Hz from the satellites and over 100 Hz from the sub, since the filters have a certain slope, and do not remove all signal over or under their selected frequency. In reality, the satellites are too small to have any really useful output below about 100 Hz, so you will probably not get additional output, since the system limitations prevent this. There may be some irregularities at the upper end of the double output range, but that can only be ascertained by practical experimentation. Please note that a low high-pass limit for the satellites will make them more subject to overload and consequent damage, since they are not meant to operate this low.

Does the AVR 151s support EzSet equlaizer or any other mic equlaizer?

Asked by: Ahmad Salah
Hi Ahmad, Thank you for the question. Yes, the AVR system supports EzSet and that is of course done via a microphone that is included in the box. If you need more help, please contact our customer support.

VTuner hungs on some stations and more stations are causing hung when time goes. Now I can play only one Estonian station: Hit FM. Other devices (Smartphone, PC) can play all stations from radioharmankardon.com. Is there a way I can fix it myself?

Asked by: AguK
Hi, Thank you for contacting us here. This sounds most like an issue with the internet connection on your AVR. I would suggest checking the cables, and/or replacing them if needed. If above is not a solution, please reach out to us by email on customer.support@harman.com, so we can assist you
