Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy, small footprint, and what a punch. I upgraded my Panasonic home theater system and decided to go with the Marantz NR1607 receiver and the Harman Kardon HKTS 16 for speakers. Did some research on multiple sites and this was the best setup for my particular need. I was familiar with the footprint of these speakers since I shopped them against Definitive technologies. Overall, I have to say, I'm very pleased. I had some fine tuning issues with the receiver, but once that was sorted out, the sound that was emitted was wonderful. The clarity and deep base was exactly what I was looking for. Using this setup in our 22 x 24 ft. family room with 16 ft ceiling and no distortion. Nothing but positive things to say. Hope this system last me a long time. And happy shopping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At the sale price... a TOTAL bargin Wonderfully sized sub-woofer and satellite speaker. Total overkill for my condo but the sound quality thru my HK AVR is excellent. Had a high-end sound bar before but found myself playing it overly loud hear all the subtle sounds. w/ this setup, I play at lower level but hear all the channels clearly and in "3D". Speakers are big enough to fill out the full range of sound without lokking like huge briakc in the condo. After 3 sound bars and one other system (speaker sounded great but looked huge in my small space), I've stopped trying to find a find a system I'm satisfied w/... love this setup (HKTS16+HK1610S AVR)

I have a SONY STR-DN1080 receiver. It's rated at 165 watts at 6 ohms and 130 watts at 8 ohms. Will these speakers work if I do not turn it up to the maximum level?

Asked by: ChrisTX
Thank you for the answer! I read on Sony's site that it is rated at 165 at 6 ohms. A review site reported that Sony told them it was rated130 at 8 ohms. I'm glad it is only 120 watts since I do not want to blow these awesome speakers. BTW, it would help if you would also send your response to the email that I submitted. Thanks again!

I've currently own HKTS 16bq and planning to buy pioneer VSX-532 receiver . Please let me know the receiver is suitable or not , if not please suggest me another one

Asked by: vr2224
The HKTS 16 has a power rating of generally 120 W at 8 ohms. As long as the receiver you plan to buy can handle this rating, it is definitely suitable. If it can't handle this, I recommend one of our receivers, the AVR 1710S. Its power rating is 100 W at 8 ohms - so long as you do not turn the volume up to the maximum, it will work perfectly.

I have a Technics SA-AX540 receiver. It is rather old. Are these speakers compatible with this unit?

Asked by: AirmanMJD
Yes it is, the Technics SA-AX540 drives 100W per channel at 8 ohms and the HKTS 16 can handle up to 120W at 8 ohms. This would work with each other pretty well.

Is this bluetooth or will there be cables to speakers?

Asked by: Kent2100
The HKTS 16 is a passive speaker system with a powered subwoofer. It must be connected to an audio/video receiver in order to have a surround sound system and cannot be used via bluetooth . Any of our current receivers (AVR 1510S, 1610S and 1710S) will work with these speakers.

I want to connect to samsung tv do I need to buy reciver?

Asked by: Ralphi
Yes, You will need a receiver in order to use the HKTS 16 speakers. You'll require a receiver that can drive up to 120W of power at 8 ohms. A receiver that can do that would the our Harman/Kardon AVR 1610S and the AVR 1710S.

Is the sub wireless

Asked by: b1rad
The HKTS 16 is all wired and not wireless. The sub requires to have it connected to a receiver via wire in order for it to receive audio signals.
