The Harman Kardon HKTS 9 speaker package is compact enough to fit comfortably in even modest-sized rooms, but it delivers the kind of highimpact, 5.1-channel sound that you associate with your favourite cineplex. Engineered for optimal performance, the dual midrange centre speaker, powerful satellites and down-firing, 200-watt powered subwoofer work together to envelop you in a realistic, 360-degree soundscape that includes plenty of deep, satisfying bass. With all the colour-coded wiring and wall brackets you’ll need for virtually any installation, the HKTS 9 takes the complexity and guesswork out of the home theatre equation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A year with the HKTS 9 in College As a college student who likes to go out and fellow musician, I love music. I originally had two sets of Soundsticks, and considering their size and price, they performed admirably. Then last winter when looking for a nice portable speaker for a present, I noticed this speaker set on sale. Very on sale. At that point it decided it was time to dip my toes into the audiophile world, and i was not disappointed. i bought a decent intro 700W Sony receiver, and with these speakers wow was I impressed. The difference between a L/R system to surround sound is incredible. Loud music, movies and videogames all sounded great. When i'd have a party in my room and the music was especially loud the sub would distort a little bit, but for $160, this system can't be beat. I then bought a Klipsch R-125W sub and the sound was perfect. If you're looking to join the surround sound club this is a great place to start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Listen at a lower volume, but with richer sound A quick, easy set up with carefully fitted mounts. I was surprised by how much better the low volume listening was compared to my old system. very happy with my purchase.

Can the subwoofer work at 240v

Asked by: Dv99
All HKTS 9 subwoofers sold inside the US are specifically designed to be used for a power source rated as AC 100–120V, 50/60 Hz and cannot be used for AC 220–240V, 50/60 Hz. If you purchased one in the US and will be bringing it to a country that uses the latter, you will need a step down transformer in between the sub and the wall outlet.

So i have to buy a reviver ?

Asked by: Mikeh
You will need to get a receiver in order to make this work I would suggest getting the AVR 1610S with these speakers since the AVR drives 85W per channel @ 6/8 ohms while the HKTS 9 can handle 80W @ 8 ohms.

I must have lost the long bolt required for wall mounting the speakers because I can't find them. What are the specifications of the long bolt required so that I can buy replacements?

Asked by: Mark510
I didn’t get those long bolts as well. After reading the manual I found that you are asking us to buy the anchors which best suits our wall conditions. Do you have any suggestions on what type of wall mount anchors will best fit with these speaker mounts? Also it would be better if the bolts are supplied along with speakers instead we research and buy them.

I would like to know would HKTS 9 speaker system compatible with Onkyo AVR TX-NR575E ?

Asked by: Punam
To address your inquiry, as long as the AVR you have is rated at not more than 80W and not below 70W at 8 ohms per channel, it would work perfectly with the HKTS 9.

Hi I literally know nothing about home theater systems but i have just bought the HKTS 9BQ/230. Now I need a reciever to go with it. Can you please suggest one that will work with this system that won't be mad expensive?

Asked by: Mr Dixon
Hi Dixon, Thank you for your question. Any of our AVR models 151S, 161S and 171S will work with your 5.1 surround system. I personally would go for the AVR 171S to have the most powerful receiver.

Hi, What's the crossover frequency for these speakers? It should be 100 Hz for such a tiny driver. But it seems they give better performance at 80 Hz and below especially during music listening. Thanks.

Asked by: Detaillogic
The estimated rating is 160 hz. But sometimes it comes down to how we interpret sound. Your ears and choice of sound might make the speakers sound lower or higher than the actual measurements.
